Issa Rae Brings Us Rap Sh!t..on screen & in the studio

The era of HBO’s Insecure may have come to a close, but Sis is far from finished. Life after the historical series that entertained the culture for 5 seasons has been all about making new waves for the actress, producer, writer and creative from curating #TVForHer to music projects.

It’s the next big thing on HBO Max

Produced by Issa’s imprint Hoorae Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment, the series centers on two Miami-based rappers who try to find success in the music industry. Rap Sh!t stars fresh faces Aida Osman and KaMillion who are sure to bring the comedic summer fun with its along for the ride.

With the July release of Rae’s sophomore show, it was only right “Rap Sh!t” came with some…well…RAP SH!T!

The all-female led series soundtrack is officially here, and it hits heavy with some heavy hitters. The 14-track project features original music from Dreezy, Tokyo Jetz, Jean Deaux, BEAM, Raedio acts TeaMarr, NCognita, and more.

Issa’s music label, Raedio has also released the documentary short RAP SH!T: Crafting The Sonics of Miami, which is described as highlighting the creation of the project and how integral it was to capture the authenticity of the 305.
