State of Emergency Virtual Book Tour

Activist, Leader and Voice of the People Tamika D. Mallory is headed on tour to talk State of Emergency. First declaimed in her Minneapolis Press conference speech following the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, State of Emergency is now defined in her book where she addresses “How We Win in the Country We Built”

Forewords from Angela Davis and Cardi B. are featured in Mallory’s literary debut, which is also the first tile from Charlamagne Tha God’s publishing imprint. The ability to curate activism with pop culture is creating a new wave of social awareness and message distribution to our younger generation.

To kick off the book’s release, Tamika Mallory is leading a 10-City Virtual Tour, starting wit NYC. Attendees can look forward to conversations with the likes of Taraji P. Henson, Erica Campbell, Tiffany Haddish, Trae The Truth, La la Anthony, Jeezy and more. Participating book stores in each city will host the panel on Crowdcast and Zoom for viewers. Anyone can attend as many events as desired virtually, and tickets include a copy of the Author’s release. Check out the line up slated for each event below.

Tamika Mallory was recognized in TIME 100 for her leading organizer role in of the 2017 Women's March along with three other co-chairs. As the youngest director of the National Action Network, she is using her platform to advocate for fighting systematic racism. Also named one of ESSENCE’s Woke 100, Mallory co-founded the intersectional social justice organization Until Freedom. Her now viral speech declaring a state of emergency on the countries attack against Black America was called “the speech of a generation” by ABC News.
