Fly High Young Queen, Fly High.
Congrats are in order for the world campion gymnast, who just made history as the first woman ever to land a Yurchenko double pike in a competition. Despite a 2 year hiatus, Simone Biles came to WIN. Closing with a score of 58.400 at the GK US Classic in Indianapolis, Biles defended her title with the highest ranked in both floor exercise balance beam.
The Yurchenko move has historically only ever successfully completed by men. The vault
is a high difficulty double pike involving a roundoff onto the springboard, followed by a back handspring onto the vaulting table, and ending with a piked double backflip into the air before landing. The 24-year old executed with grace and made it look effortless.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist dared to rock a white GK Elite leotard emblazoned with a rhinestone goat on the back, and rightfully so! #WhenYourWorkSpeaksForItself
MAJOR MOVES.
