January 20, 2021 marked the magical date that we all united as women to celebrate a thing, glass shattered.. history made.

On Inauguration Day, we witnessed empowerment on the highest stage. Strength. Perseverance, Hard Work, Dedication. The Power of Her. Kamala Harris became the first woman, black woman, and person of South Asian ancestry to be sworn into the role of Vice President of the United States. It was a celebration across the nation. And to do the occasion justice, women everywhere banned together to show support by rocking Converse “Chuck Taylor” All-Stars and Pearls.

The fashion combination was given it’s stamp by the Vice President, and rightfully so, women fell in formation on the day she made history to make it be known.. that this was big, and it was a beautiful thing. Facebook groups like “Wear Pearls on Jan 20, 2021” and “Chucks and Pearls Day, January 20, 2021” spread the word and the movement was made official, to honor, show respect and stand in support of Kamala Harris, who is a representation of the greatness in women and our capabilities. Some organizations plan to keep the movement rocking, deeming the 20th of every month “Chucks & Pearls Day”. We continue to salute VP Harris and stand in support of her journey of elevation and leadership.
